FAQ’s about childrens tennis:

  • AT WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN START TO PLAY TENNIS?

All children are different. As long as they can take instruction then they are old enough to be coached.  We generally reccommend players to be about 5 years of age, though some are younger.

  • DO CHILDREN NEED TO HAVE THEIR OWN RACKET?

No.  We provide rackets and equipment at all our classes.

  • WHAT SHOULD CHILDREN WEAR?

Children should wear tennis shoes and something like a tracksuit. It depends on the weather.  Clothing should be comfortable.

  • SHOULD CHILDREN BRING A DRINK TO CLASS?

We advise that children have their own water or any refreshment drink. They are going to run a lot and they may get thirsty.

  • HOW MANY PUPILS ARE IN EACH CLASS?

Group classes are usually around 8 pupils per class which is small enough to ensure that individual attention is given, that there’s enjoyment in group interaction and potential for improvement.

  • WHAT DO WE DO IF WEATHER IS BAD?

Some venues are equipped with  indoor Tennis courts or halls so coaching can take place in any weather conditions.  If an indoor venue is not available or suitable then an extra week is added onto the end of the course to make up for that week lost due to rain.
